A Different Point of View

So now that my photographer, Kaelynn, has gone off to college the hubby has had to step in. Shall we unveil his name soon? Still in the training mode but he is doing alright. This maroon, burgundy, plum or whatever you want to call it is one of "the" colors for fall. So beautiful and rich and perfect to go into the holidays and those cold winter months. Here is another sheer blouse to throw on over a tank for a different look. I like it just for that reason. It's different and interesting. Throw on a pair of cheetah shoes to make the look even funkier.

Why not try a hat with it? Another cute accessory for fall.

Anti-Aging Secrets: De-Puff Your Eyes

To De-Puff Eyes

Cool It: “Keep a tube of aloe vera gel in the freezer. Let it sit at room temperature for 10 minutes then squeeze out a few cool, icy drops onto your fingers and massage your under-eye area gently in both directions. The aloe acts as an anti-inflammatory and the massage helps reduce morning swelling.” —Dr. David Colbert, founder of New York Dermatology
Do The Tea Trick: “Apply cold compresses using soaked, chilled tea bags, which will help shrink blood vessels fast.” —Dr. Elizabeth Tanzi, Co-director of the Washington Institute of Dermatologic Laser Surgery in   Washington, DC

I can't believe my favorite season is coming to an end. Labor Day weekend is upon us in just four days.   It has been a mixed bag this summer. Wonderful beach week with the kids and my siblings. Our youngest has gone off to college and we are now empty nesters. I have chosen to embrace it and the hubby and I are spending more time together which is a lot of fun. I am really enjoying being a "couple" again.  Time just goes by too fast but Fall also brings a new and invigorating time. But you know what? I am also looking forward to this new season. It is a beautiful time here in DC with the leaves changing, the crisp air, the beginning of football season and all the  fashion of course. Thanks for following my blog. I truly appreciate each and every one of you. xxxx

Fab Finds: Drape Top

This beautiful top would look great on so many people. Wear it with skinny jeans or slim slacks. Whatever suits you best. Throw on a pair of flat shoes or boots and a blazer and you are ready to go. If you are petite you can wear a wedge shoe. Add some pizzaz to your ensemble and put some dangle earrings and bangles with it or add a belt as well. Definitely try a patterned flat with it too which will bring out the fun in you girl. Click below to see where you can get this beautiful top.

Boyfriend Jeans

The boyfriend jeans are meant to be slouchy and comfy and should look like your boyfriend gave you his old ones. I never had the desire to throw a pair of these on but they really have grown on me. They are a staple in my sister's wardrobe and you have probably seen them on celebs like Jen Anniston and Halle Berry. The trick is to know what to wear them with. Shoes are the key. Here you seem them with a pair of leopard wedges. They also look great with pointy high heels or pointy flats. Since they have a very boyish fit I threw on a very flowy and feminine blouse with it.

Transition

Transition

Fall is around the corner and temps are going to fluctuate. Hard to dress for sometimes but just keep one thing in mind. Layer. For a casual look, throw on a sleeveless blouse with a pair of boyfriend jeans. Carry a cardigan in your bag and keep a jacket in your car as the temps begin to fall especially in the evening. One of the "it" colors for fall is maroon or plum color. Keep a cardigan in that color as a "pop" item for your ensemble. A pair of moccasin style slippers are a great substitution for heels. I just happen to think the featured ones are beautiful.

A Lacey Thing

Lace is everywhere right now in dresses or tops. This BCBG dress is very current because of the bold tangerine color. You either love or hate wearing lace. The thing is that you don't have to wear it with patent leather shoes like your mom made you wear it when you were a little girl. You can top this dress with a denim jacket or brown buttery leather jacket and boots in the fall to make it really casual.

Fur For Fall

Fur, faux and real are all the rage for the upcoming cooler months. I am so happy about that because not only are they warm but so chic. Add a collar to a sweater. Alternate them. Add one to a jacket or knit dress. It is my favorite accessory during the cold months. Vests are great to throw on instead of a coat. Layer with a warm sweater in the colder months. They are just barely starting to show up in stores so hold off a bit or order on line down below.

Fab Finds: More Fall Shoe Trends

One of the trends in flats this fall looks like this one with a strap around the ankle. You want to show the strap so wear them with  straight dress or skirt but I think they would look the cutest with skinny jeans or leggings. The high heel one would be nice with slacks or dresses and skirts of course. Check out the beautiful bag below. Treat yourself! Have a great weekend and enjoy shoe shopping.

A Look Back At Summer Maxi's

Here is another look at the Maxi dresses I posted this summer. There are plenty of summer days left to enjoy and now is the time to go out and shop for your summer grabs. I love getting good pieces at great prices and then pulling them out next year. Brand spankin' new.

Ruffles

This girly blouse is an oldie but a goodie. It's an old J Crew one and I really wish they would bring it back in different colors. I usually wear it with faded jeans because I love the contrast between a frilly blouse and a pair of worn down jeans. Just add a cute cropped jacket in the fall and voila. Here is a summer look with it.

Soft And Neutral

Summer whites mean long and warm summer days to me. Fireflies, beach days, outdoor meals and cocktails with friends and family. I can't believe we are now in the month of August. I am going to savor every moment left of my favorite season. If you haven't tried wearing all white or white with cream it's time to   do it. You can add a pop of color with a clutch, scarf or any other accessory if you want to. Gold jewelry looks really good too. This beautiful silk blouse is actually meant to be worn as an accessory. I love wearing the unexpected. It's so much fun.
