Mixing It Up J Crew Style

J Crew has an amazing way of combining and mixing things together in a way that would not occur to most people. It is all thanks to creative director Jenna Lyons. She has taken a what once was a conservative brand and has made it into a preppy cool and hip line. The idea is to mix patterns and color  to make it your own style. One simple way to do this is with the shoes you elect to wear with your ensemble. If your are leery about stepping outside of your comfort zone, then simply hop on their website or glance at their seasonal catalogs and see what you can imitate. Have fun with it! That is what it is all about.

Sparkle and Shine

A sequins pencil skirt is a fun way to show up to your holiday parties. There is glitter everywhere this season so if you are into it, go for it! I personally am a glitter and glam girl. If you are shying away from the skirt then shimmer in shoes, sweaters or other kinds of skirts. Have fun and let it shine, let it shine, let it shine!

Keeping warm

Just a few looks to keep you all warm and cozy during these chilly months.  Happy Thanksgiving to all.

Transition

Fall is around the corner and temps are going to fluctuate. Hard to dress for sometimes but just keep one thing in mind. Layer. For a casual look, throw on a sleeveless blouse with a pair of boyfriend jeans. Carry a cardigan in your bag and keep a jacket in your car as the temps begin to fall especially in the evening. One of the "it" colors for fall is maroon or plum color. Keep a cardigan in that color as a "pop" item for your ensemble. A pair of moccasin style slippers are a great substitution for heels. I just happen to think the featured ones are beautiful.
