Fall Texture
I wanted to give you ideas and looks on mixing textures. You know what a faux fur fan (ha) I am. What are you waiting for? Go out and get yours. Throw that leather jacket on with an ensemble like this and you will really be stylin' girl.

Winter White

Just because we are hanging up our white jeans does not mean that we can't wear our winter whites. It is all in the appropriate fabric. Linen is obviously something we would not wear here in this climate. Wool and polyester blends are good. Winter white is such a bright substitute to the dark colors we tend to wear during the cold months.

10 Fashion Staples: Trench Coat

#7 Trench coat. I have never been a trench coat kinda girl until I found this one. It has a very feminine flair in the full, pleated  skirt. It's so Audrey. And yes, I do refer to her a lot. I should re-think this blog and make it totally about Audrey Hepburn. Love her! This is what should be one of your investment pieces and yes, this one was for me. Although it could have been a lot worse. This one is so cute I actually love wearing it. I have tried to find it available for you but I am afraid to no avail. I will give you another link though. So if you do not have a trench coat, ladies, it's time to get one. They come in different colors now which is great. So you could even sport a pink one if you wanted to.

10 Fashion Staples: Cashmere Sweater

The cashmere sweater
#5 The Cashmere Sweater. It is a bit awkward to post this one because I am way over cold weather. However it is a staple that we should all have several of. I wear mine to death and keep a lightweight one handy for the summer. I can't bear the blasting air conditioning everywhere. My favorite one is a black one. I wear it several times a week in the cold months. I don't ever want to part with it so I just keep mending the holes. I always buy them at the end of the season on sale. By the way, I wanted to point out that some of the items in these collages are very expensive. They are just featured to give you ideas ladies. However, sometimes a girl's got to splurge right?

Pleats and Polka Dots

The feminine and beautiful pleated skirt. So glad it is a big trend this season. As are polka dots. They are great in a flowy fabric to the knee or down to the ankle as I prefer them. If you look around you will find them in bright colors as well. Yesterday was a beautiful day down in Georgetown, though chilly. I would love to live down there. Every house is so unique and charming. I imagine getting up on a beautiful day and walking to get a cup of morning coffee. Then of course returning  to have a nice glass of wine and a yummy something. It would be great to be able to walk everywhere. I guess for now I will have to settle for driving down and fighting to get a parking spot. It's worth it though.

Almost spring

Ok, I think that winter is over for the most part, though technically not until March 21st. I will go ahead and set the winter looks aside and start moving on to spring. I know all the magazines and stores have all their spring things out but I was trying to hold out because my photographer has been very busy lately. Ha! This dress is a perfect transition piece. Nice comfy cotton but with long sleeves for the cool air. I like to put boots with it for now and switch to sandals in the spring and summer. A chunky necklace adds a nice pop. I am all about that, you'll see.

Cheetahlicious!

I love animal prints. The Cheetah or Leopard prints are the most popular. They look very similar if you ask me, enough so I had to look them up.  So much fun to wear and add a real punch to any outfit. You can wear the print in a pencil skirt as shown here or a scarf, shoes or belt. Perhaps just a bag also. Red is a great color to pair with it. Go on and try it!
