Winter White

Just because we are hanging up our white jeans does not mean that we can't wear our winter whites. It is all in the appropriate fabric. Linen is obviously something we would not wear here in this climate. Wool and polyester blends are good. Winter white is such a bright substitute to the dark colors we tend to wear during the cold months.

Leather Tee

How do you wear a leather t-shirt? Hmmm, some of you are thinking it may be a little too wild or something that is just not you. C'mon ladies. As you know leather never goes out of style especially in the way of jackets or coats. You can totally make leather look soft and feminine without having that hard edge look to it. This top is very soft buttery faux leather overlay. Here I have softened the look with a white jacket and a pretty necklace which is a gift that came from Paraguay. Wear this with skirts and heels and a cardigan. But I think my favorite look will be with a pair of winter white trousers which I will totally post for you once I find the perfect pair.

Fab Finds: Drape Top

This beautiful top would look great on so many people. Wear it with skinny jeans or slim slacks. Whatever suits you best. Throw on a pair of flat shoes or boots and a blazer and you are ready to go. If you are petite you can wear a wedge shoe. Add some pizzaz to your ensemble and put some dangle earrings and bangles with it or add a belt as well. Definitely try a patterned flat with it too which will bring out the fun in you girl. Click below to see where you can get this beautiful top.

A Little Bit of Detail

I love bling! This is truly my favorite summer top. I've had it for maybe three years and I only pull it out a couple of times in the summer so that it is still special and fun to wear. Last night we went into Old Town Alexandria to a very cool place called Virtue. The atmosphere was awesome and food yummy. Next time we will have to go earlier in the afternoon to enjoy all the great boutiques and cool little shops Old Town has to offer. I would honestly love to try each and every restaurant too.

Gazebo Moments

This beautiful gazebo comes with the house we rent every year on Silver Lake at Rehoboth beach. It just may be the main reason why we keep coming back. It is a tradition that every evening we come out here to have our cocktails and jam sessions. I'm pretty sure we serenade the whole neighborhood. We have a lot of wonderful memories from previous years and looking forward to making more tonight.

Love my maxi's. I ordered this skirt on line a few weeks ago and honestly can't remember where I got it. The white tank is from Old Navy. Throw a faded jean jacket or shrug and you are ready to go. What a nice place to enjoy a refreshing vodka tonic don't you think?

Love the built in benches on either side. Very convenient.

Bright and Cheery

I have told you I love pleated skirts and I stumbled on this bright yellow one. Ok...I will admit I got this for $15 at Forever 21. Yes, you heard me. I was shopping with Kaelynn (my 17 year old daughter) saw it, looked at the price, dug deep in my pockets and got it. Ha! Talk about bargain shopping. A bright blue t-shirt and a fun statement necklace and viola you have a bright summer ensemble. I also have to admit that I have acquired a lot of yellow items in the last two summers.  I'm going to start looking like Tweety Bird soon if I don't stop!

Pop it with Pink

When I saw this pink jacket, I thought I died and went to heaven. I love the color, it has a Jackie O look and I had to have it. It is definitely a statement jacket so toning it down with neutral colors underneath makes it shine. A multi-colored  blouse would look great as does pairing it with all black.

Nude shoes are another great staple. They go with everything.
